Transcription: This rare photograph of the N1, the Soviet moon rocket sitting poised on the launch pad, was designed to beat the United States to the moon. It consisted of four stages and 43 engines, but after four failures and numerous accidents costing hundreds of lives, the Soviets cancelled their program to put men on the moon.
